Tears to my eyes?
Henryk Gorecki's Third symphony always tears me up.
They have clips here. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000005J1C/104-8347292-3882352?v=glance
From a history of site For me the second song is especially moving because it deals with a real life person. The lyrics is in fact taken from an inscription found on a stonewall in a cell under the Gestapo headquarters in Zakopane, Poland. It was carved out by a young polish girl, 18 year old Helena Blazusiakowna, who was imprisoned there in 1944.
Itīs a prayer to her no doubt brokenhearted mother no to cry for her since the Queen of Heaven, Virgin Mary would support her in jail.
Being in this hellish situation herself the girl worries about her mother and wantīs to comfort her in the only possible way, a prayer. Itīs truly heartbreaking.
Young Helenaīs final fate is unknown to me, but in the hands of the Gestapo Iīm afraid there was no happy ending for her.
But her memory still lives on through this powerful music.

Grate on my nerves?
Anything by Celine Dion from the Titanic sound track.
